I looked a hundred times and all I saw was dust.
The sun broke through and flecks of gold filled the air.

There are many reasons people find their way to my door. Some arrive in acute distress, suffering from symptoms of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression.
Sometimes it's less tangible than that. A life that looks complete from the outside but feels lacking from within.
In all of it, I see the same thing:
People who are more capable, more resilient and more whole than they currently know themselves to be.

How Can We Help?
ABOUT RYKIE SMITH
The Science of Healing, The Art of Flourishing
I'm a registered psychotherapist, expressive arts therapist, and founder of The Art of Wellbeing. I came to this work through the conviction that people are always more than they currently know themselves to be.
After a decade of clinical practice, I still hold the conviction that genuine healing is not the mere management of symptoms, but also the integration of their cause.
My approach draws on the latest advances in neuroscience, trauma research and psychology, and on the recognition that no framework, however rigorous, is a substitute for the irreducible complexity of the human being in front of me.
The result is an approach that reaches what talking alone cannot, and facilitates change that goes further and lasts longer than most people have come to expect.
